  Does anyone else watch 24?

  last night was the season finale for 24. it has been a very fast paced season, for all the characters.

  i was so upset that they killed terry, but wonder if anyone thinks she might not be dead.

  it sure looked like she is, the way jack carried on with her in his arms, instead of going for help.

  i got sucked in early on, missed a few episodes in between, but definitely saw the finale:

  i wasn't surprised by the death of his wife, i expected that, nina couldn't leave any traces, and terry was a loose end, she heard her speak german and heard her say where she was heading off to

  palmer is amazing, it would be great if politicians where as honest as he is, i was so glad he dumped her, she has been nothing but a hemorrhoid throughout his campaign, it was the last straw when she went behind his back and leaked the news to the media risking his life with that breach, she had to go
  that was so classic when the secret service closed her off, too perfect

  waiting for the next season,
  will they call it 'the next day' or 'another 24', 'the 24 that follow', 'jack gets some sleep'? . . . this is bad . . . . i should really stop

  Episode 2 KICKS A**!! (No spoilers)

  just caught the midnight screening of episode ii.

  yeah, i know (it was actually a mostly normal crowd, only 2 fairly cute young ladies as jedis and one darth maul showed up .

  this is exactly everything episode i should have been.

  i never implied he shouldve used them underwater, but rather he couldve flown from his seat on the x-wing to the shore.---dubla

  perhaps an assumption on my part, that flying out of the water/swamp was implied, different brains work differently,
  so true he could have, but then again he was thrown off rather quickly when the ship was bumped and perhaps it takes a few seconds to process the command to ignite the boosters, so he fell in

  but as i pointed out above, he has magnetic feet --- we learn this in episode 1, during the repair scene outside of the queen's ship going on in space --- those magnets should have prevented him from falling into the swamp, and kept him attached to the hull of the x-wing, that is a bigger flaw to me than jet propulsion, unless of course the x-wing hull wasn't conducive to magnetism

  and why wouldnt jet boosters work in a swamp? too much fog in the air? i cant see how this would matter.---dubla

  a misnomer on my part, what i meant to say was the murky waters of the swamp, the mud, moisture etc, would have prevented R2 boosters from working underneath the muck,

  not a rocket scienist over here, just a star wars fan, trying to justify an explanation for such an occurance,

  i was reading some news reports on yahoo about suicide bombings likely to happen here in the us.

  what irks me the most are statements made about the justice departments inability to track visas issued to foreign students.

  i remember watching a portuguese newscast via satellite tv sometime last october.

  it is also not a coincidence that both cheney and powell were in bush sr.'s administration and now they are both in dubya's administration wearing higher ranks, only a matter of time before jebb gets elected to the white house you know

  a man with so many connections like bush sr. --- head of the cia, former president 1 term and vice president 2 terms --- doesn't simply goto sleep when he knows as much as he does,
  he probably has another term left in dubya and may even have another with his son jebb (governor of florida) if makes it into the white house too

  How come if C3P-O was owned by lars owen and beru, when he came back to Tatooine in episdoe 4, why didn't they recognize him or he rocognize them. He could have been like 'Oh master Lars! It's been so long!' ---bboy

  as to why owen didn't recognize 3p0:
  exterior covering on 3po was different,
  there are many other interpretor droids similar in style seen throughout the series --- in the rebel ship of episode 4 opening shot -- again we see another in bespin, -- as well as in episode 1 when quigon and obiwan act as ambassadors

  as to why 3p0 didn't recognize owen:
  for one he didn't really spend much time with him, but really because owen had aged greatly almost 40 years since he saw him last, at that point 3p0 could have just assumed it was another human,
  with anakin it was different because anakin was his maker, programming and voice recognition of the programmer could justify this

  in respect to R2:
  i don't think the jet boosters would work underwater or in a swamp for that matter, also in every episode we get to see more of his equipment that is hidden behind the compartments, arms, periscope, tow wire, launcher, projector, etc even magnetized feet'
  which that should be the question then, if his feet are magnetic why did he fall off the x-wing at dagobah?

  i have not been on the site for awhile.

  i have been really busy with school and work.

  but now things are calmed down a bit, and i am back... so hi again to everyone i missed, and also to anyone new.

  mimilly had a good point with her suggestion, a bad associate doesn't have to be necessarily have to be worldly, as a good associate doesn't necessarily have to be dub,
  with that in mind you could open some perceptual doors and at the same time turn it around and make it a guilt trip for all,

  ie. point out some of the dishonest qualities of some of your congregation's sheeps, and incorporate how this dishonety could qualify someone as a bad associate, if you have the courage look for these in the elders and MS's, (without mentioning names of course)

  I pulled that stunt in my last talk at the school, and needless to say i really believe that is the reason i was never assigned another,
  the subject was along the lines of honesty, and i managed to use an example of how using a radar detector to avoid a speeding ticket was a way of cheating the system, and how a truly honest person would obey the speed limit without the aid of such a device being that his conscience would be aligned with god's will and that alone would keep him from cheating the law in such a way, all the time focusing my gaze in the general direction of an elder that i knew was a speed demon and kept a radar in his car. . .
